It has been 48 years since young Santos was murdered by DPD, not much has changed for brown and black communities in the City of Dallas, and across the nation. At this year’s annual ceremony, we will share the story of Santos, announce exciting developments, and continue demanding that the City of Dallas highlights this tragic historical moment.

We will begin by meeting at Pike Park, where Santos played as a child.

We will depart from Pike Park at 9am and arriving to Oakland Cemetery for a drive thru procession, around 10am or earlier. Officer Darrell Cain murdered 12-year-old Santos Rodriguez and was only sentenced to 5 years in prison and served only half his time. 2 and a half years for stealing the life of a 12-year-old child. JUSTICE FOR SANTOS WAS NEVER SERVED.

The Santos Vive Project is a collective community effort that comes together annually to retell the story of Santos.
